PBS Special "Carrier" debuts on cable channel 10 from 9:00pm to 11:00pm.  

This is the first part of a 10 hour series about the men and women who man the "CARRIER" in today's Navy. It was filmed by a PBS film crew who spent a 6 month deployment to the Persian Gulf un-chaperoned aboard USS Nimitz in 2005.  It is uncensored and edited only for length.

This is the event where our Chapter awards the Doleman Award to a key community volunteer in our Chapter.

U.S.Vets – Hawaii Patriot 5K Run/Walk

Unfortunately we have many homeless veterans in our Country, including our Hawaii. U.S. Vets reach out to these unfortunate folks giving them housing, a warm meal and hope. 

To fund this effort the Hawaii Patriot 5K Run/Walk will be held Saturday 16 June at the Iroquois Point Club at Ewa Beach starting at 0800. Entry fees are $20.00 for civilians and $17.00 for military members. 

Application date is postmark by 8 June and mailed to Pacific Sports Events, 3429 James Street, Honolulu, Hawaii 96815. Checks made out to Pacific Sports Events.

Military Transition Job Fair

Planning on retiring soon, or would like to make a career change, well a Military Job Fair is being held on June 15, 2007 at the Marine Corps Base Hawaii Kahuna Club Ballroom in Building 1629. 

Must have a valid ID as a Reservist, National Guard, active duty or retirees and their families to attend. Time is 0900 to 1430, for more information call 257-7790. No Children please due to the professional nature of this event.

These ceremonies honor our men and woman who have made the ultimate sacrifice to preserve the freedom we cherish. These service members emulate a long line of heroes who have gone before them and they have volunteered to carry the mantle and continue our heritage. Please join the Governor, Mayor or the 25th Infantry Division to remember and honor them.
