MOAA-Hawaii Forum Instructions

If you are already familiar with the mechanics of a Forum, go directly to the MOAA-Hawaii Forum

MOAA-Hawaii Forum

Others, please read the brief tutorial below

1.)

If you are not already registered, the first thing you need to do is register to get a Username and Password.  Below is the header you will see when you access the Forum at http://moaa.freeforums.org/

2.)

After you log in, you can contribute to one of the Forums.  For example, if you wanted to chat with the President, you would click on the President's Corner and you will see that there are already two sample Topics posted.  One by Bob Ranaldo and the other by cpuguy:  (See below)

3.)

Selecting the symbol for the Membership Topic, you will see what was written.  In this case there was a question to the President posed by cpuguy. Below there is a reply by Bob Ranaldo giving support to cpuguy's question to the President. Usually, the President would be the only one to respond to Topics in this Forum, but anyone can jump on the soap box and provide input.  (See below)

4.)

Whether you post a New Topic to an existing Forum or Post a Reply to an existing Topic, the forms you fill out are similar, other than the title of the form and where it appears in that particular Forum. The New Topic form additionally has a section at the bottom to invoke a poll on your Topic.

5.)

To post a reply to an existing Topic, the form you fill out is shown below.  For now, ignore the formatting code boxes below the subject line and also ignore the "Disable BBCode in this post" check box.

6.)

To post a New Topic to an existing Forum the form you fill out is shown below.  It is similar to the form used to post a reply except there is an additional section at the bottom where you can request viewers vote (take a Poll) on your Topic.   For now, ignore the formatting code boxes below the subject line and also ignore the "Disable BBCode in this post" check box.

An example of a Poll can be seen in the "Web Site Humor" Forum where the MOAA Administrator posted a topic  "Do we want to keep the Military Humor Section? Please Vote".  (See Instruction 7 below.)

7.)

Below is an example of a Topic that was posted in the "Web Site Humor" Forum by the MOAA Administrator.  The Topic  Subject is "Do we want to keep the Military Humor Section? Please Vote".  The Poll Description reads "Should the MOAA-Hawaii Web Site have a Humor Section?"  (See below)

We encourage everyone to register, and at a minimum, access the  "Web Site Humor" Forum and VOTE!  It's a good way to get introduced to the mechanics of the Forum and it will let us know what you think about having the Humor Section.
