Our Hawaii State Chapter is the program coordinator for this important National MOAA program recognizing the JROTC programs in our high schools as well as identifying one outstanding cadet for a leadership medal award.
30 high schools in Hawaii and American Samoa receive these awards during a JROTC awards ceremony held normally near the end of the academic school year in May. Hank Heyenga has championed this program for our Chapter for many years, and we now have Ralph Hiatt as the Hawaii State JROTC Awards program director.
WE WOULD LIKE SOME CHAPTER MEMBERS TO VOLUNTEER TO MAKE THESE AWARDS during upcoming JROTC award ceremonies. If you are a Hawai’i high school grad or have a close affiliation with any of our local high schools or a desire to represent us as a National MOAA award presenter, please contact Ralph Hiatt at
hiattr@hawaii.rr.com or telephone him at 395-5935.
A MOAA representative at the ceremony shows the cadet students we care about
them; their choice to be in ROTC and their future.
